Former Ontario premier Mike Harris praised Ralph Klein as a friend, a golf partner and the champion of a conservative cause that transformed Canada.
Speaking at the memorial service for the former Alberta premier, Harris told the packed concert hall that the first golfing term Klein learned was “mulligan” — and he took lots of them.
The public celebration of Klein’s life included Prime Minister Stephen Harper, former prime minister Jean Chretien and Alberta Premier Alison Redford.
Klein died last week at the age of 70 after a battle with dementia and lung disease.
